ad agency of turkey with bigger goals on my mind.

Hi there!

I’m Alpan - a Mediterranean copywriter based in Berlin.

My advertising career sprang from a brief dialogue I had with mum:
I was about 10 years old. Mum was driving; I was in the backseat.
Out of nowhere, she asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I told her that I wanted to “write ads”.

Now, I have no idea why I said that. I hadn’t thought about it before.
Probably I didn’t even know a job like that exists. Though, I do remember
enjoying commercials in between cartoons. Sometimes, even more than cartoons.

After setting an accidental goal for my professional career
very early in life, I stuck to it somehow. I started at TBWA\Istanbul
as an intern and stayed there for five hectic years in its heyday.

But I’ve always longed for working in Europe - and more than that,
for living in Europe. At the end of 2016, I moved to Berlin to be a part
of the international team at Jung von Matt/Spree and I am currently
still working there.

Luckily, my life is not just about advertising. I relentlessly try to make
my photography less and less boring and still hope to become
a National Geographic photojournalist someday. I also want to film
at least one documentary feature in my life and to write a novel that
can bring me posthumous fame.
